BOURNEMOUTH teenager Marie Blake is producing her own musical show in memory of her late father.

She is presenting the show along with her singing teacher Liz Ferrie of Curtain Up Productions.

Called Thanks For the Memory after her father Robert Blake's favourite song, it will include popular West End and Broadway hits.

Her father died three years ago of liver failure but she has chosen to donate money raised to the Meningitis Research Foundation.

Her two-year-old cousin Holly had Meningitis C as a baby and was given only a slim chance of survival by Southampton Hospital staff - but thankfully she pulled through so Marie felt it fitting to do something in return.

The 17-year-old student will stage the fully-costumed show at the De La Sale Theatre at St Peter's School on June 20.

She will both produce it and perform in it along with a cast of ten adults and ten children from Curtain Up Productions.

She is currently doing a B-Tech national diploma in performing arts at Poole College.

Tickets are priced £7.50 and £6 concessions and are available by calling 01202 525911.
