BRIDPORT take to the road again tonight when they visit bottom club Elmore in the Screwfix Direct Premier Division (kick-off 7.30pm).

It's the fourth consecutive away trip for the Bees, who will be favourites to take all three points from Horsdon Park.

The Eagles are in a desperate situation propping up the table, having won just twice all season - in their opening two home

fixtures - and currently on a run of 13

successive league defeats.

They have conceded an average of over four goals a game and while Bridport's scoring record has hardly been prolific, they will be hoping to give the goals-for column a major boost.

But the Bees will be mindful of the last time they came up against similarly lowly opposition in December. The then basement dwellers Dawlish Town came to St Mary's Field and rightfully took their first three points in 10 months of trying.

Bridport manager Bob Russell believes his side have learned their lesson from that defeat.

He said: "I'd like to think that our mental approach has got a bit more professional since then.

"This game is purely about attitude because if you go player for player I believe we are the better side.

"But if we go there with a lack of commitment we will come away with nothing and deserve to do so."

Russell is boosted by the return of Simon Austin after a lengthy lay off with a broken bone in his foot.

Although the Bees' utility man has not trained for seven weeks, he is likely to be on the bench and adds some versatility to the squad.

"He's a good player and it's great to have him back involved - he's a fit lad and he should be okay," said Russell.

Richie Middleton is drafted in from the reserves and weekend absentee Danny Wilson is back, but midfielder Bruce Gawen and defender Darren Stewart both miss the game because of college and work commitments.
