DORCHESTER boss Mark Morris insists "nothing's impossible" - even though his men stayed in the relegation zone despite holding high-flyers Stafford Rangers to a goal-less draw the the Avenue Stadium.

Wins for fellow strugglers Bath City, Chippenham and Havant and Waterlooville did nothing to improve the Magpies outlook, but Morris says pride and passion could yet save them.

"We are in a difficult position but if we keep playing like we did today nothing is impossible," said Morris after great goalkeeping by Rangers' Stoke City loanee Ben Foster denied his side all three points.

"Stafford showed the kind of strength you need to compete in the higher echelons of a league like the Dr Martens Premier," said Morris. "They were powerful and athletic and are probably the strongest side physcially we have met this season.

"But we stuck at a task which was never going to be easy and there is little I can say to my lads when they give everything as they did today and have done in most of our home matches since Christmas.

"Of course we wanted to win three points because of the position we are in, but I will take the positives out of the game and look forward to difficult away matches at Hinckley and Chelmsford in the next week where we must try and get at least one victory.

"Today we probably played at the top end of what we have got and if we do that every game between now and the end of the season I will have no complaints."

Morris said he may recall both Mark Jermyn and Jamie Brown to his starting line-up at Hinckley tomorrow.

"When we give everything like we did today we have tended to look a bit tired when we have another game soon afterwards," he said. "We can't afford to be soft again at Hinckley like we were at Welling so a couple of pairs of fresh legs might be the answer."

Morris refused to be drawn into the controversy over a first half clash of heads between Andy Harris and Stafford's 18-goal top scorer Daniel Davidson that left the Magpies defender, who had another solid game at full back, needing four stitches in a cut to his right eye.

After the game Harris claimed: "The ref said it was accidental but I didn't agree.

Said Morris: "I don't know what happened. There was talk about contact and stuff like that and mysteriously a cut appeared under Andy's eye. But the ref is the only person who can make a charge like that and it doesn't matter what anyone else sees."
