NOT only does Diesel the cat have her name in common with American action star Vin Diesel, she also shares his sense of adventure, as she proved when she went missing for six months.

The two-year-old moggy's owner Stella McPherson, from Creekmoor, Poole, feared the worst when Diesel disappeared one night last year.

But the thrill-seeking pet has now been reunited with her owner after the Cats Protection League discovered she had made her way all the way to Bournemouth and was living at the back of Just Add Water surf shop in Old Christchurch Road.

Stella, a 22-year-old student pharmacy technician, said: "She'd got all the way to Bournemouth and had been living in a sub-station at the back of the shop.

"The Cats Protection League had been trying to catch her for months, but she's absolutely fine because the people in the shop had been putting food out for her.

"If she hadn't been wearing an identi-chip they wouldn't have been able to tell she was ours. I'm so grateful to the Cats Protection League."
