IT'S not often you see a frog skating along the prom. A mad money-making charity mission is seeing one local vet donning crazy animal costumes, inline skating along Bournemouth promenade and singing on the beach every morning for a month.

Anne McCloy, 33, has already braved freezing temperatures and dressed as a frog, cat, bat, leopard, zebra and sheep, and future costumes include a giraffe, tiger, bee, butterfly and for the grand finale she'll honour her Scottish blood and dress as a haggis.

Anne hopes her strange behaviour will see her winning £50,000 in a competition run by Michelob Ultra - she'll donate half her winnings to the PDSA animal charity which provides care to sick and injured pets of people unable to afford private veterinary fees.

The competition challenged people to live life to the full by carrying out unique and adventurous resolutions.

She said: "I was nervous to start with and a little embarrassed but now I really don't care.

"I've had to do a video diary every morning to record progress for the competition.

"I just thought the competition would be good fun to enter. It was my New Year's resolution to get up nice and early and do some exercise and it has made me do that.

"I've been swimming in the sea every day and it is absolutely freezing. When this is all over, if I win, I'll go on a nice warm holiday - somewhere where the sea is warm.

"Everyone I have told what I'm doing says I'm mad - I guess I must be. But the PDSA is a very worthy cause and any money I raise will go into a general fund for the whole of the UK.

"Luckily there aren't many people around on the beach at 6am when I'm about."

She's bought leotards in different colours and is adapting each one daily for her exercises.

Last year Anne raised £2,000 for PDSA with a trek alongside the Great Wall of China.

How you can help Anne reach her target for the PDSA

Anne, who works for the PDSA at Castle Lane West, has already pipped 1,000 contestants to a place in the final and is competing against two other women for the prize. But she's urging locals to make her crazy antics worthwhile by voting for her.
