COMPTON House will be playing Dorset Premier Division cricket for the first time in their history next season.

The Sherborne-based outfit booked their spot by pipping Suttoners to the Division One title at the weekend and will replace relegated Hamworthy Recreation in the top flight.

Going down from Division One are Weymouth Seconds and West Moors with Shaftesbury and Swanage coming up from Division Two.

Bridport were crowned champions in Division Three and will be competing at a higher level next summer along with runners-up Fovant, but it's been a miserable campaign all round for Hamworthy with their second team dropping down to Division Four.

Weymouth Fourths tumbled out of Division Five with an average of just 1.73 while Portland Red Triangle Seconds missed passing their rivals in the other direction by finishing third in Division Six, just 0.03 of a point behind runners-up Wayfarers Seconds.

Studland took the honours in Sunday Division One ahead of Colehill with Kilmington & Stourton and Wayfarers relegated.

Cheselbourne go down after ending their season bottom of Division Three while Puddletown will be moving in the opposite direction courtesy of second spot in Division Four.

Dorchester Casuals have been relegated to Division Five which was won by Bere Regis and Portland Red Triangle are celebrating after lifting the Division Six title.

Cattistock took the silverware in Division Seven while the Division Eight trophy was secured by Dewlish.
