TWO legends of rock will spring to life next Saturday when Angie Bennett anmd Eddie Hintz bring their Tina Turner and Elton John acts to Weymouth Pavilion.

Both Angie and Eddie have built up a fine reputation for their authentic representations of the two singing stars and their presence at the Pavilion promises to be a great night of entertainment.

Angie, whose backing band is called The Best, explains: "You can get away without a band with some artists, but not Tina Turner because she's so energetic and uses the whole stage when she performs.

"So we have the whole band up on stage and people who come to see us who have actually seen Tina perform live say we are very authentic.

"We have taken our set from two of her greatest concerts - Rio in 1988 when she came on stage in a red dress to sing Private Dancer and Barcelona in 1990."

She continues: "We do all the hits, right through from Nutbush City Limits to her recent songs. The hardest thing is dancing and moving round the stage wearing four-inch heels, but I have to look the part so I have to do it. It is exhausting though, especially as the set is just over an hour long."

Angie's Tina Turner tribute makes up the second half of the evening, with the entertainment in the first half provided by Eddie Hintz and his Elton John act which, again, takes in hits past and present.

Legends of Rock starts at 7.30pm on saturday, August 2. Tickets are £10, available from the Pavilion box office on 01305 783225.
