A UNIVERSITY student was hauled before magistrates after riding a motorised scooter wearing just a thong, fluffy tiger slippers and "kiss this" written on his bottom in red lipstick.

Robert Heime, 22, of Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, was spotted by police riding the scooter along a town centre road.

Robert was playing drinking games with friends when he chose to don the risqu outfit for a dare on April 30.

But the prank turned more serious when the red-faced licensed retail management student was stopped by police in Old Christchurch Road, breathalysed and found to be over the legal drink drive limit.

Robert was brought before Bournemouth Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to an excess alcohol charge. He was banned from driving for 12 months, ordered to attend a drink drive rehabilitation course and fined £155.

Prosecutor Lisa Dytham told the court that Heime was found with 54 micrograms of alcohol in 100mls of breath - the legal limit is 35.

Robert told the Echo: "I thought it was really funny until I was banned from driving."

He had already bared all to drinkers in a nearby pub before being pulled over by police officers.

"We were playing drinking games and instead of downing a glass of nasty drinks I decided to do the dare," said Robert.

"I had to ride down the street wearing a thong and a pair of tiger slippers. As I ran out the girls from the flat downstairs wrote 'kiss this' on my bottom with lipstick.

"I was quite gutted because I have now lost my driving licence due to drink driving. I didn't mean to upset anyone."

Motorised scooters were launched over three years ago and became very popular. They are classified as being a vehicle and riders need a licence and insurance to ride them. Robert's petrol-fuelled scooter cost £450 and can reach speeds of up to 18mph.
