BOURNEMOUTH Poppies held the reigning Wessex League champions Andover to a 1-1 draw at Victoria Park last night, but manager Keith Williams was disappointed his side didn't pick up all three points.

"I think we played well enough to win the game," said Williams. "I expect us to keep clean sheets, and if you keep clean sheets you're more than likely to win the game, and we're good enough to keep clean sheets.

"We've played quite a few games already this season, and there's not many teams who have been able to break us down, but we've got to stop over playing if you like.

"We over played once in this game, and we got punished for it.

"We played three passes by the centre circle, and then decided to give it to their forward, and we paid for it.

"If teams are going to score against us, I'd rather they really earnt it, rather than us giving it to them."

Williams' side controlled much of the match, but conceded ten minutes before the break to go in at the interval a goal down.

It took just 60 seconds though for Poppies to equalise after the break, with James Antell squaring the ball for Lewis Till to level matters.

Poppies: Stone, Smith, Collins, Bryning, Briscoe, Till, Dunn (Dancer 70), Holmes, Lucas, Antell (Cuglietta 85), Blyth (Langridge 60).

Gary Horlock rifled in a 40-yard screamer for Christchurch, with the only goal of the game in an excellent away victory at Fareham Town.

Leigh Phillips, Kevin Gill and Steve Strong were on the scoresheet for Lymington & New Milton, who kept up their 100 per cent league record with a 3-0 win at basement boys Downton.

Brockenhurst were defeated at Grigg Lane by the odd goal in three against championship favourites Eastleigh.

Wimborne went down 3-1 at home to Moneyfields.
