WEYMOUTH-BASED fashion giant New Look has scooped a top accolade at a prestigious award ceremony.

The company landed first place in the Value For Money category at the Prima High Street Fashion Awards in London.

Readers of Prima magazine and a panel of celebrity judges, including Twiggy and Vanessa Feltz, decided that the popular retailer came top of the league for affordable fashion.

The award was presented by the editor of Draper's Record magazine, Eric Musgrave, and received on behalf of New Look by press officer Alicia Lewis.

It is not the first time New Look has scored top marks at this event - in the year 2000, company bosses were delighted to receive the Casual Clothes Award, which this year went to Next.

The company beat off stiff competition to win the Value For Money award from industry rivals including Debenhams, Marks & Spencer and Accessorize.

New Look, which recently fought its way back up the stock market after an alarming share performance, now boasts almost 500 outlets across the UK.
