A tribute to one of the UK's most legendary vocalists and entertainers, Frankie Vaughan, comes to Weymouth Pavilion later this month.

Give Me The Moonlight stars Johnny Tudor and has been described as an 'engaging and respectful' homage to the UK-born variety show veteran who rose high in the 1950s and became as well known for his charity work as for his entertaining.

Frankie Vaughan brought us songs such as Green Door, Garden of Eden, Kisses Sweeter than Wine and - of course - Give Me The Moonlight.

The first half of this tribute show takes the audience through Frankie's life and music, while the second part is made up of songs by Sammy Davis Jnr, Tom Jones and Anthony Newley.

Johnny Tudor is the perfect choice to portray Frankie Vaughan. A well-known face on the variety and cabaret circuit, he has won Opportunity Knocks four times and appeared at the London Palladium and Royal Albert Hall with Dorothy Squires.

He will be joined on stage by the Jeff Guppy Orchestra and, in the second half, singers Olwen Rees, Keris Lea and Maria Holliday, who will sing numbers by Mama Cass, Petula Clark and Shirley Bassey.

Give Me The Moonlight is at Weymouth Pavilion on Sunday, September 15, at 7.30pm. For bookings and ticket details, call the box office on (01305) 783225.
