BOURNEMOUTH'S Scissors Hair Design Group has scored a major after being invited to join the Fellowship for British Hairdressing - "regarded as one of the greatest accolades in the hairdressing industry".
Fellowship membership is by invitation only. Other well-known members of this hairdressing elite include Trevor Sorbie and Vidal Sassoon.
Scissors chairman Ray Saffer said: "This recognition will help us to raise the company profile as one of the UK's leading salon groups even further afield.
"It also represents a further endorsement of the Scissors Group and training academy as centres of excellence and for our commitment to the highest standards."
Scissors is one of the best-known names in hairdressing in Bournemouth, having been established as a family business more than 30 years ago.
The chain has now grown to six salons employing up to 70 staff in Bournemouth, Westbourne, Winton, Ferndown, Poole and New Milton.
