THE Wyke Regis Horticultural Society (WRHS) held its annual sweet pea and rose show at the village Scout Hut.
Dave Barter, 60, won four of the sweet pea classes with exhibits from his allotment at Green Lane, Wyke Regis, and his wife Maureen was commended for her first attempts at growing roses.
Peter Read, from Upwey, scooped three first prizes, and Margaret Watts, who lives in Wyke Regis, went home with two.
WRHS president Arthur Sheppard presented the trophies and said: "We have had some fantastic sweet peas and the judge congratulated us on our high standards."
The society's vice-chairman Brian Copp said: "Bud drop, a feared scourge of sweet pea growers, almost led to the cancellation of the show, and the situation was not helped by black spot on the roses.
"But the organisers persevered, and the event was a remarkable success."
