WEYMOUTH Inner Wheel Ladies presented cheques to several local charities from their fundraising events throughout the year.
President Marian Lovegrove handed over cheques of £250 each to Cathrin Dunford of South Dorset Talking Newspapers and to Peter Wray-Cook from the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The club also nominated four other charities. The Diabetic Association, Women's Refuge, Trimar Hospice and the Lantern centre - each received £125.
Marian said: "We are not actually a fundraising organisation but we do hold a few events throughout the year, including our charity coffee morning, to help good causes."
Meanwhile Marian is about to finish her year as president and hand over to Margaret Homen-Bury.
Marian said: "I would encourage Margaret to be herself and enjoy it. I have really enjoyed my time as president, we've done lots of different things and everyone has had a good time."
