TALENTED actors at Weymouth College are getting set to take to the stage for their first production as the Next Stage Theatre Company.

Students from the second year group of the HND in performance practice are treading the boards with their hard-hitting comedy production-Accidental Death of an Anarchist.

Written by Dario Fo, it tells the story of a young anarchist railway worker who one night at midnight in December 1969 fell to his death from the fourth floor window of a police station in Milan, Italy.

The police were in the process of interrogating him about a recent spate of terrorism bombings that had taken place in the city. Police claimed that he had committed suicide and that he had run past seven police officers in a small office and jumped out of a window that was open because it was stuffy.

Alan Marsh, the head of performing arts at the college, said:

"Fo draws us into a mad world where the lunatic often seems to be the only one making sense."

Accidental Death of an Anarchist takes place on Wednesday, January 23 and Thursday, January 24, at 7.30pm at the college theatre in Cranford Avenue. The play contains strong language and adult material. Tickets cost £4.50 (£3.50 concessions, £3 students) and are available on the door or via the box office (24-hour answering service) on (01305) 208702.
