A NEW lifeguard training centre run at the Kinson, Littledown, Stokewood and Bournemouth International Centre swimming pools has achieved approved status from the Institute of Qualified Lifeguards.
The multi-site centre, which is training more than 150 lifesavers, and has already trained more than a hundred, is one of the first of its kind in the South West region.
IQL centre co-ordinator, Dave Moore said: "The multi-site status means we can deliver a universal training programme for all staff and ensure they are trained to a very high standard."
The centre will train the large number of people needed to lifeguard at local pools who would previously have had to gain qualifications out of the area.
