WEYMOUTH Sports will be out to stretch their unbeaten Dorset Combination League run to six games when they entertain leaders Shaftesbury at Redlands tomorrow, kick-off 2.15pm.

Adie Chance's men haven't been beaten since Cobham Sports visited the Dorchester Road venue in early December and the player-boss is confident of keeping that record intact.

He said: "Admittedly it has been mainly draws over the past few weeks, but the important thing is that we're not losing games at the moment and that's more than half the battle.

"Across the board the team have been superb during that time, but in particular it's the midfield boys who have impressed me most.

"Players like Adam Rose, Tom Steadman, Gerry De La Planque, Darren Tizard and Chris Armstrong have been in outstanding form and our success has basically been built around them. As far as Shaftesbury are concerned, we've certainly got nothing to fear and we're looking forward to having a go against them tomorrow.

"Last week Gillingham Town were pretty peeved after we dented their title hopes by taking a point off them up there, but this week we'll be trying to do them a favour by stopping Shaftesbury in their tracks."

Struggling to be fit to face Neil Coates' table-toppers is Sports skipper Andy Miles. He limped out of that goalless draw at Gillingham with a badly bruised ankle and a decision on his availability will be left until just before kick-off.

Meanwhile youngster Armstrong is waiting to learn whether he's required by the Dorset youth team tomorrow, but Shane Stone is set for a comeback after being sidelined for more than a month with a hamstring problem.
