THE decision to replace traditional seaside farce with a drama at Bournemouth's Pier Theatre this summer is clearly paying dividends.

Psychological comedy thriller Theft, which stars veteran funnyman Roy Hudd and former EastEnders baddy Leslie "Dirty Den" Grantham is packing them in.

The play, written by Eric Chappell, who penned big TV hits like Rising Damp and Only When I Laugh, also stars Stephanie Turner from Juliet Bravo, Peter Alexander from Emmerdale and Sandra Payne from Waiting For God.

It has proved so successful that its producers have decided to extend its summer run from four weeks to six.

Now the Daily Echo in conjunction with the theatre is offering readers the chance to win tickets to the show.

All you have to do is answer the following question: What is the name of the top TV sitcom writer who wrote Theft?

Once you have the answer call the box office on 01202 456456. The competition will be open from 10am tomorrow.

The first 10 callers will each receive a pair of complimentary tickets.

The next 10 will receive two seats for the price of one and the next 30 will be offered tickets at the discounted price of £10 per seat (limited to two tickets per performance and limited to certain performances).

Any callers after the first 50 will be offered two tickets for the price of one at any matinee performance. The competition does not cover tickets for Saturday night performances.

Theft plays The Pier Theatre at Bournemouth until Saturday, September 8.
