Christchurch boss Nigel Cripps admitted his side had "held on for grim death" following their 1-1 draw at Gosport Borough's Privett Park.
Priory were forced to weather the storm and defend heroically after Andy Nicholas's first-half opener had been cancelled out midway through the second period.
Cripps said: "We had to defend very well, although a draw was probably a fair result. We could have nicked it at the end through Paul Rideout, but Gosport deserved their point."
Christchurch: Edmonds, Gogan, Butler, Bradley, Langdown, Hillyer, Spencer, Wyatt, Edwards (Johnson, h-t), Rideout, Nicholas (Herridge, 60). Unused sub: Wells.
