SEAN O'Driscoll will ask referee Phil Dowd to review Gareth Stewart's late booking after the Cherries goalkeeper was allegedly struck by coins at Adams Park on Saturday.

Stewart was cautioned for time wasting in the 82nd minute, but claims he delayed taking a goal-kick after he was hit by coins thrown from the Wycombe section of the crowd.

O'Driscoll said: "Gareth was complaining to a steward because he had been hit by a couple of objects which might have been coins. He was then booked for time wasting and we are not happy about that.

"I doubt very much whether the booking will be overturned, but we have put our case forward and we will have to wait and see what happens.

"We have spoken to Wycombe and they are keen to catch the culprit. If it were to happen again and somebody got hit in the eye, we would feel bad if we hadn't reported this incident."

Stewart added: "Something was definitely thrown from the crowd and although I am not sure exactly what it was, I felt it hit me.

"After I had been hit, I stopped and turned round to motion to a steward in case anything bigger was thrown.

"I was upset that the referee booked me and we went to see him after the game to tell him what had happened."

The clash was also marred when a spectator from the Cherries end of the ground ran onto the pitch after Carl Fletcher had netted the third goal of the game.

l Cherries captain Steve Fletcher was forced to miss his first game of the season on Saturday after failing a late fitness test on a hamstring injury.

Fletcher is likely to be sidelined for tomorrow's LDV Vans Trophy opener against Dover and could also miss the FA Cup second round clash with Nuneaton Borough.
