A FIFTY pence ticket has won John Taylor of Alderbury Close in Swanage a new car - thanks to the 125th anniversary of the town's lifeboat.
Lifeboat supporters sold 20,000 tickets - equivalent to two for every resident of Swanage - since the raffle was launched on April 1.
The car - a blue Ford Ka - was supplied at a reduced cost to the RNLI in Swanage by the St Mich-ael's garage in Harman's Cross.
The vehicle is due to be officially handed over to Mr Taylor at the Stone Quay in Swanage on Saturday, December 9, at noon.
If wet, the presentation will take place at St Michael's garage.
The grand raffle - together with other events, including a seafront fun day and an anniversary dinner dance at the cricket club - has raised £6,000 for the RNLI's work.
