LOLLIPOP, the puppy that survived against all the odds, is looking for a home.

When mum Daisy had nine pups, only five survived and Lollipop wasn't expected to live.

At two to three days old, the puppy broke her leg, then she got an eye infection and then developed an abscess behind one of her ears.

On top of all that, the puppy also lost her sucking reflex.

She was named Lollipop because when she broke her leg, the vets didn't have a splint small enough so they used a lollipop stick.

Owner Billy Lintell, of Mapperton, said: "Nobody thought she'd pull through."

But Lollipop confounded the experts - although it's likely that she's deaf, partially sighted and it is not clear whether the bone in her broken leg has properly calcified.

Said Billy: "She's such a fighter - quite an amazing dog.

"I would really like to keep her but it's not appropriate on a farm with horses and cars going to and fro.

"She needs someone who can give her a bit of time and someone with experience of dogs."

Billy is hoping that a local home can be found for the puppy. If you can help, write to the Echo at 67 East Street, Bridport, marking your envelope Lollipop and we will pass your letter on to Billy.
