MORE than 150 women got behind the wheel of powerful machines at Bovington Camp.
They steered fire engines, double decker buses, tractors and vehicles used in the Second World War at the annual Marie Curie Cancer Care Ladies' Driving Challenge.
Some women also took a spin in a new Ford Ka to test their driving skills on a specially designed course.
Organisers estimate the event raised more than £25,000 to help cancer sufferers and fund research into the disease.
Community fundraising manager Julia Chapman said: "Everyone had so much fun driving vehicles ranging from fire engines to tractors.
"Last year the event was cancelled because of bad weather so it was great that it went ahead this year. There were plenty of jealous husbands watching the driving. The minimum amount of sponsorship was £100 per person but most people collected more than that and we may have raised as much as £30,000."
