GARRY Hill warned his Terras players they need to improve after labouring to a goalless draw at struggling Maidenhead United.

He said: "For some reason, we looked a little flat and I'm disappointed we have only come away with a draw.

"No disrespect to Maidenhead, but these are games we should be winning if we want to achieve success in Conference South this season.

"It wasn't the best of games and Maidenhead, who have a new manager, raised their game and worked hard to frustrate us.

"We started quite brightly and our strikers, Chukki Eribenne and Wayne Purser, (pictured right), both had a couple of openings but unfortunately it wasn't to be.

"Maidenhead will be counting themselves unlucky not to have won it late on when they had a good shout for a penalty for handball turned down.

"But I suppose looking at the game as a whole, a draw was probably a fair result."

Hill again hailed his unchanged defence who earned another clean-sheet to make it 304 minutes since conceding a league goal.

"I'm a big believer in thinking positively whenever possible and from this game it was our defensive performance again," he said.

"Keeping a clean-sheet is all you can ask from your defence and so full credit to them because they have stuck to their task again.

"Obviously it would have been nice to have nicked a goal at the other end but at least this draw keeps our unbeaten run going and maintaining our progress."

Hill, who rested injured pair

striker Kirk Jackson and midfielder Brian Dutton, handed a full debut to new signing Lee Elam and a first start to former Maidenhead midfielder Soloman Taiwo.

He said: "Both Kirk and Brian have slight knocks and should be okay for the FA Cup game against Bath City this weekend.

"Their absence meant I had to change things around a bit and giving first starts to Lee and Soloman was part of that.

"Both of them have undoubted ability but the nature of the game made it a difficult first start for them. Although I bought them off during the second half, I'm confident both Soloman and Lee will be important players for us in the coming months."
