DORCHESTER'S already lengthy injury list has got even longer.

The Magpies travel to Farnborough in the Conference South tomorrow (3pm), with boss Mark Morris describing the situation like a 'scene from Emergency Ward Seven."

"We were already without Mark Robinson, Carl Poore and Warren Byerley," he explained, "and now our two main strikers Matt Groves and Justin Keeler are very doubtful.

"Matt turned an ankle in the draw against Havant on Tuesday and Justin came off with a bit of a hamstring strain just after he put us ahead from the penalty spot.

"Add to that list goalkeeper Craig Bradshaw who is still in hospital with suspected appendicitis, and it's like Emergency Ward Seven at the moment."

But in typical Morris style, the manager isn't complaining and remains confident ahead of the trip to Cherrywood Road.

"Moaning won't help the situation," he added, "so you just have to roll up your sleeves and get on with life.

"We've still got enough fit players who are capable of doing a good job up there and I won't be using the injuries as an excuse.

Passion

"We were woeful on Saturday when we lost to Maidenhead but Tuesday's was a far better performance with a bit more passion and grit.

"If we can reproduce that at Farnborough then I'll be delighted and that's certainly the aim."

Bradshaw's absence means another start for teenage keeper Nick Jones who had a blinder against the Hawks.

Morris added: "He rode his luck a few times, but on the whole he had a very good game. His shot stopping is excellent and he's going to develop into a fine keeper.

"It doesn't look good for Craig. At first the medics thought it was gallstones but it now appears to be much worse. We'll keep our eye on the situation and obviously wish him a speedy recovery.

"On the plus side, Carl Poore's knee injury isn't as bad as suspected and he won't be needing surgery after all. But he's still going to be out for a while although it could have been months rather than weeks."

Meanwhile Morris has today set his side a target of 42 points to ensure Conference South football returns to the Avenue Stadium next season.

He added: "I've worked out that 42 points would almost certainly see us safe and so that's got to be our first priority. Beyond that, everything else is a bonus and so it's very much a case of one step at a time."

Former Portland defender Nathan Walker is added to tomorrow's squad while Frenchman Larbi Mekchiche is set for his first start up front.
