I MUST respond to David Beaman ‘Scrap council’ (Your Say, April 8).
Portland’s power was removed years ago, which is why attendance is poor (no power, why vote?).
Portlanders are not listened to by any mainland councillors.
We should have our own council, make our own decisions and stop listening to mainland politics.
