STUDENT Alice Hall has been rushed off her feet in her bid to become Miss England.

Alice, 18, was crowned Miss Dorset at Banus nightclub in Weymouth when three judges voted unanimously to put her through to the national final and give her a chance of making it to the Miss World competition.

She has been busy preparing for the Miss England final at the end of August while she waits for her A level results and works as a sales assistant at Next in Weymouth town centre.

Alice, from Wyke Regis, Weymouth, said: “It’s been so exciting.

“The night I won I couldn’t sleep. I was bouncing off the ceiling when I got home and since then I’ve been really busy.

“It’s a busy time going right up until August 31.”

Her dates this week include a Miss England press conference and photo shoot in Watford.

On Saturday she will have the professional photo shoot that she won as a prize at the Miss Dorset final.

Alice has also picked one of her other prizes, a dress from Bridal and Ball in Weymouth that she will wear in the Miss England final at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, being held on August 31 and September 1.

Alice said her father Steve and brother James, 21, have been excited for her.

On Wednesday, August 11, Alice is walking from Lulworth to Weymouth harbour to raise funds for Miss England’s chosen charity, the Variety Club Children’s Charity.

Her family is about to move house from their home in South Road and she will start her beauty therapy course at Weymouth College in September.

She said: “I get my A level results in three weeks and we are also moving house, so it’s mad.”

All 59 beauty queens who made it to the final will also go to Sandown Park Racecourse for a fundraising day on August 21.
