ANDY Mundy was knocked down and killed on Verne Hill Road, Portland, at 10.30pm on Saturday August 8, last year.

Mr Mundy’s family have thanked Sergeant Dave Stroud for his ‘fantastic’ and ‘faultless’ work since then and Sgt Stroud said the investigation ‘is still very much alive and will continue'.

He said: “Anybody who has any information – no matter how unimportant they feel it might be – should come forward for the sake of his family more than anything.

Sgt Stroud added: “We police with consent and we always need the co-operation of the public.

“The decent citizens of Weymouth and Portland are the eyes and ears of Weymouth and Portland and if they see suspicious behaviour they owe it to each other to come forward.”

Sgt Stroud said he has continued to make enquiries. He added: “I’m certain there’s a number of people who know exactly what happened on that evening.

“For whatever reason have chosen to keep that information to themselves when they could have and should have helped the investigation. Even if they did so anonymously.

“They don’t want to be seen to be betraying friends or whatever.”

“Anybody who was involved should speak to us for their own sake as this investigation won’t go away.”

Anybody with information can call Sgt Stroud on 01305 222222 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
