Police in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses after two burglaries in the Westham area.

The first incident, in which offenders entered a house through an insecure window before stealing items of jewellery and hair straighteners, happened at an address along Markham Avenue between 1.30pm and 6pm on Tuesday, October 19. The second burglary happened along the same road between 9.10am and 12.20pm on Thursday, October 28, when offenders forced entry through a rear ground floor window and stole electrical items.

Police have only just released details of the incidents.

Police Constable Mike Green, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed any of these burglaries and anyone who has any information about those responsible to contact me as soon as possible.

“I would also like to speak with anyone who has been offered laptops, games consoles, MP3 players, cameras or jewellery in unusual circumstances, or for an unusually cheap price.

“Finally, I’d advise members of the public to keep their properties secure and call the police immediately if they feel that something untoward or out-of-the-ordinary is taking place in their neighbourhood.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 01305 222 222.
