DORSET Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the services for young people’s emotional health and well being in Dorset.

She said: “We recognise the need to continually improve services and the best way to do this is by listening to the experiences of young people and families.

“We offer support and treatments that are tailored to each child and young person’s individual needs.”

“If a young person or their family has any concerns about emotional health or well being, they can speak to a range of professionals including for example GPs, teachers, school nurses and social workers, who will be able to get in contact with us on their behalf and arrange appropriate support. We have a dedicated team with a wealth of experience including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, family therapists, psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, specialist parenting co-ordinators and support workers.

“The type of support, including frequency of contact will vary and is weighed up and assessed in terms of what is appropriate for each individual.

“This is subject to continuous assessment and change throughout the care process.”

The spokesman added: “If a young person feels they need more support we would strongly encourage that they contact their care co-ordinator or Jo Ballantyne, CAMHS Operational Manager on 01305 254 712.”
