TWO people accused of dumping a dog in Weymouth have had their court case put back by a week.
Jennifer Hadfield, aged 55, and Michael Hartley aged 54, who are both from Preston in Lancashire, were due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates Court yesterday.
In a case brought by the RSPCA, the pair are charged with not protecting a dog from pain, injury, suffering and disease by abandoning her.
The dog in question is Ginger, who used to be called Brandy, an eight-year-old cross breed.
Ginger was found by workers outside BMT Defence Services on the Granby Industrial Estate in September.
Neither Hartley or Hadfield were present in court and an adjournment was requested to give the pair time to get legal advice before entering their pleas next week.
Their case was adjourned until next Thursday.
