WEST Dorset MP Oliver Letwin has urged youngsters and their parents to join in Walk to School Week.
Walking organisations Living Streets and Walk England have joined forces to promote walking and help people get out and about on foot.
The Walk to School Week is on May 16 to 20 as part of National Walking Month.
Mr Letwin said: “I am pleased to see that Living Streets’ Walk to School Week is happening again this year. “Walking is key to fighting childhood obesity.
“But it can also be beneficial to children in other ways, helping them learn vital road safety skills, to interact with their local environment and to become ‘streetwise’.”
