FAMILY and friends of tragic teenager Robyn Nixon are determined that the ‘talented and beautiful’ youngster will never be forgotten.

Today marks the first anniversary of the 15-year-old schoolgirl’s death in Weymouth town centre last year and her loved ones say it has left a hole in their lives that can never be filled.

The family will be gathering at ‘Robyn’s bed’ at Wyke Regis Cemetery today, wearing flowers in their hair and letting off two doves in memory of their youngest daughter.

Robyn’s mum Sue Nixon said: “We want Robyn to see how much we love her and how much we miss her.”

Later this month, Robyn’s sister Aimee Michel is holding a Rock Out in Hope community music festival in Hope Square, Weymouth, as a celebration of Robyn’s life.

The event on Sunday, May 22, from 12pm until 10pm has a ‘beat bullying’ theme because Robyn’s inquest was told she had been the victim of bullying after a relationship break-up.

It aims to build on last year’s spontaneous Robyn’s Rock Out Goodbye Party, attended by hundreds of people in Lower St Alban Street, which followed floods of tributes and friends keeping vigil at the spot by the multi-storey car park, where Robyn fell.

The memorial street party, a marathon concert and additional fundraising efforts including forget-me-not pin sales, raffle prizes, cup cake sales, collections at the Ruan Thai and Bee Cars Weymouth raised £2,400 for the Special Care Baby Unit in Poole (SCBU) in Robyn’s memory.

Mrs Nixon said it was lovely to present the money to SCBU, where Robyn was born five-and-a-half weeks early.

The family are trying to move forward but still feel devastated by their loss.

Mrs Nixon, aged 55, of Wyke Regis said: “I don’t think it’s something we’ll ever get over.

“We’re always trying to figure out how to move forward so Robyn’s never forgotten.

“She was such a big part of our lives and is still, even now.

“A couple of her closer friends visit me regularly, which is nice.

“She was our baby girl and it’s horrific; it should never have been.”

She added: “I always wear a flower every day for Robyn, I still will do even when I am 90.”

Mum-of-four Mrs Nixon has now set up a small business working from home in her daughter’s memory, called Robyn’s Robes of Weymouth, making ball gowns and special occasion dresses.

The name ‘Robyn’s Robes’ came from when Mrs Nixon made some of Robyn’s clothes when she was growing up and embroidered ‘Robyn’s Rags’ labels into them.

She added: “Robyn always wanted to have a little shop.

“I taught her to sew and she was really talented.”

Robyn’s sister Aimee Michel, 24, added: “I would be extremely grateful if people could wear bright colours or flowers in their hair this week as a gesture of remembrance for Robyn.”

Family Tributes

Robyn Danielle Nixon 3/5/1994 to 11/04/2010

SILENTLY one by one

In the infinite meadows of heaven

Blossoms the lovely star

The forget-me-nots of the angels.

Poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Butterflies and forget-me-nots forever in our hearts

* Precious daughter, cherished sister, we miss you more than words could express.

Loving you always, Mommy and Daddeee, Tania and Paul, Adam and Abi, Aimee and Roger, Kelly and Andrew.

Sleep tight princess.

* Dearest Robyn, when you left, you left a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled.. We love and miss you dearly..

All our Love Ads, Ab and Benjamin

* Mon little Robran, there are no words, I love you that’s it. With your tremendous heart and beautiful smile, I have no doubt that you shine on.

Death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight. We never said goodbye, just ‘I’ll see you another day.’ Love love, aims. Xx
