WEYMOUTH runner Laura Putnam, 25, raced for the Stroke Association.

The charity is very close to Laura’s heart as her mum suffered a stroke when she was young.

Laura battled the heat and crowds in London to finish in five hours, 27 minutes and 27 seconds.

She said: “I was absolutely shattered. It was really emotional going over the line, I didn’t know I’d actually finished and I had to ask someone.”

She added: “The first thing I did was shower and eat loads of chocolate.

“I have raised more than £2,500 so I’m really pleased. I’m just looking forward to my bed and a glass of wine this week.”
