THE motorcyclist who was killed in a horror crash on the A31 was a Commando who toured in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Flowers have been left at the spot between Stag Gate and the Worlds End where Warren Jackson, a 43-year-old father-of-two, known to friends as ‘Jacko’, was killed in a four-vehicle collision.

Tributes paint a picture of a fun, happy and dependable man with “everything to live for”.

In one note, son Ryan writes: “Daddy I love you to the moon and back. We had lots of fun together.”

Another bouquet carries the message: “You had everything to live for. It’s such a tragedy that your life has been taken in this way.”

Mr Jackson had spent more than 24 years in the military, finishing as Officer Commanding of the Royal Artillery display and recruiting teams, which includes motorcycle and parachute free fall shows.

Police believe Mr Jackson was riding south west along the road at Almer at 6.40pm when he was involved in a collision with a silver BMW.

Officers arrested and questioned the 41-year-old male driver, from Devon, before releasing him on bail. He and the other drivers involved, a 28-year-old woman in a black Rover and a 24-year-old woman in a red Daihatsu, suffered minor injuries or shock.

Police are appealing for witnesses travelling in the area at the time to call PC Davis on 01202 222222.
