ORGANISERS of the Dorchester Race for Life have issued a plea for women to step forward and take part in this year’s event.

With the women-only 5km events at Kingston Maurward less than three weeks there are still plenty of spaces to be filled for the two races on May 22, which will raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

The latest figures show 2,218 women have already signed up to the event, but with entry closing on May 18 there are still hundreds of spaces to be filled.

Women of all ages, shapes and sizes are now being urged to sign up and walk, jog or run the 5km to raise money to help women tackle cancer.

Event manager Rachel White said: “We are very grateful to all the women who have already entered the Race for Life in Dorchester but we urgently need many more.

“With less than three weeks to go until the event day, there are still many places left to fill.”

Women can enter the Tesco and Cancer Research UK Race for Life in Dorchester at www.raceforlife.
