Three years ago a sensible set of proposals for conserving libraries into the future was jettisoned by local politicians of all hues.
Keeping buildings open means you don’t get the books, magazines and personal service that people really value in local libraries.
The failure to follow that path - when hundreds of people protested who had never been near their local library - has resulted now in far more savage cut proposals.
Offering the control of surplus buildings to Dorset people is a sham.
