A NATURAL healing expert from Weymouth is one of the co-authors of a new book about a different approach to health.

Dr Mats Hansson suggests how the intelligence of the body which created it has the ability to heal itself in the book Abundant Health – how to achieve your health potential.

The book has been put together by Cyndi O’Meara who has collated insights from 29 dynamic health professionals include Dr Hansson, a doctor of chiropractic at the Hansson Chiropractic Centre in Granby Court on the Granby Industrial Estate.

Dr Hansson, who was introduced to chiropractic at the age of 11 following an accident playing ice hockey, is passionate about his field of health and regularly gives talks to schools and community groups.

He delivered his four children himself and raised them without vaccinations or any form of medicine.

Dr Hansson and fellow contributors to the book all share a holistic approach to health care and suggest that it’s time people thought and acted differently in order to reclaim their health.

The book contains steps and strategies to holistic family health care through the life cycle. Maintaining or regaining health from pregnancy and birth through raising children without medication to injury or illness such as heart disease or arthritis later on in life.

It also includes stories about individuals and families coming to the realisation that there are alternate ways to achieve health.

It explains how people have begun questioning whether a particular pill, potion or procedure with its “fix-it” mentality will be their best option or whether there is a different – even better – way.

It states: “The body has within it everything required to adapt, heal and grow. Ultimately, health comes from within, not from drugs and medicines.”

Dr Hansson said: “The book goes on to explain the importance of the nervous system to our health, the difference between vitalistic and mechanistic health care and why pain and discomfort is not necessarily bad.

“Abundant Health inspires a desire to do life differently; to ask different questions, make informed choices about your philosophy, your values and your health care.”

The book is available to buy from the Hansson Chiropractic Centre.
