A REGULAR visitor to a holiday park in Weymouth discovered a 1973 price list and has been offered a holiday at those prices.

Teacher Kerry Carter, from Gwent, found the price list for Littlesea Holiday Park in Lynch Lane recently when clearing out some old mail.

She sent the price list with a letter to Dave Bennett, general manager of the holiday park, and the company wrote back offering her a holiday at 1973 prices, more than £375 cheaper than today's tariffs. In 1973 a week in a caravan at Littlesea cost £13.20 with a deposit of £3. This year the same week would cost £389 with a £50 deposit.

Mrs Carter wrote in her letter that she was in college in 1973 and she was planning a holiday to Littlesea with her fiance.

She said that she has stayed at the holiday park on numerous occasions and has always enjoyed her time there.

She said: "I was a teaching student in 1973. I and my then fiance went on a summer holiday at Littlesea. I have been teaching for 31 years and we have been married for the same so it brought back many happy memories."

Holiday sales manager at Littlesea Lisa Michalowicz said: "It was really sweet of her to send us the price list. You can see where she has been crossing out dates and circling prices. She is a regular visitor and we thought it would be nice to offer her a holiday at 1973 prices."

Miss Michalowicz offered Mrs Carter a short break in a luxury holiday home or a Super Kingsize' as the larger caravans were called in 1973.

She said she would love Mrs Carter to come and see how the holiday park has changed.

Mrs Carter said that she has written to the holiday park to take up their offer but that she would have to wait until the school holidays to visit.

On the 1973 price list the telephone number for the holiday park is given as Weymouth 5131.
