RESIDENTS have been evacuated from their homes in Swanage after a gas mains leak.
Three fire crews from Swanage were called to the incident at 9.25am this morning at Victoria Avenue.
Around 28 properties have been evacuated and more than a dozen people have been relocated to a rest centre at Swanage Fire Station.
At the scene crews have set up three precautionary jets and Transco are in attendence to repair the damage.
Swanage railway has also been temporarily suspended.
The incident is likely to continue for two to three hours.
