A MAN was been jailed after trying to use fake bank cards at Sainsbury’s supermarket in Sherborne.
Adrian Udila, 41, of Davidson Road, Croyden, appeared before Dorchester Crown Court to face a charge of fraud and one of possessing false cards.
The court heard how Udila had tried to use a fake card in the supermarket and was later found to have 10 other fake cards in his possession with his name on them.
A Romanian translator was on hand to interpret the proceedings.
Judge Roger Jarvis sentenced Udila to 16 months in prison for the possession of the fake cards and 32 weeks in prison for the fraud, to run concurrently.
Judge Jarvis said: “I take the view that you were, this year, a thoroughly dishonest man.”
