GIRL band Little Mix – featuring Perrie Edwards from Weymouth – are through to the semi-finals of the X Factor.

The band survived another week of voting on the ITV1 flagship talent show last night to make it through to the final four.

Their version of Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’, a mash-up with Diana Ross’s Chain Reaction, and an emotional performance of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’ on the Saturday night show won praise from judges – although Louis Walsh said they would ‘have to pull something out of the bag’ if they wanted to stay in the competition.

But judge Tulisa Contostavlos, Little Mix’s mentor, dismissed criticism saying the band could be crowned the overall winners.

Former Weymouth schoolgirl Perrie, 18 and her bandmates were reduced to tears after singing a stripped-back performance of ‘Beautiful’.

The girls admitted the words of the track were very important to them.

Perrie said: “Everyone has insecurities and we wanted to do it for them.”

The girls chose the tracks to perform for a Guilty Pleasures and Heroes-themed show.

The band also perform on the X Factor charity single Wishing On A Star which goes on sale in the shops today.

Contestant Janet Devlin was sent home on last night’s show after a majority vote from the judges.
