THERE is now only one week to go to get your entry submitted for the Echo’s photo competition.

As the closing date fast approaches, the Echo has been inundated with readers ‘favourite snapshots of Dorset.

It’s still not too late however and readers can still get their land and seascape pictures professionally published in our new book entitled Dorset: A Photographic Journey 2012.

The best shots will also be in with a chance of winning £100 worth of vouchers to spend on photographic equipment at Castle Cameras.

Covering everything about the county from its rolling hills, beaches and cliffs to the open shoreline, countryside, woods and lush meadows, the book will also feature a special section for the Olympic and Paralympic sailing taking place in Weymouth and Portland.

The competition is a joint venture between the Dorset Echo, sister-paper Bournemouth daily Echo and Castle Cameras and follows in the footsteps of previous photographic books, which have proven to be very popular with readers.

All entries must be submitted at A4 size at 300dpi. The photo must have been taken by the entrant.

Entrants must include name, age, address, telephone number, email address, and a brief description of the location or event, time of year.

To enter, email your picture to newsdesk@dorsetecho.co.uk and include the words ‘2012 Book’ in the subject line.

All images chosen to feature in the book will be credited to the photographer.

Submitting an image is giving consent for the Dorset Echo and Daily Echo to reproduce the image free of charge in its newspapers, the Dorset: A Photographic Journey 2012 book and other Newsquest sister publications.

Selected images from the competition will appear in our online gallery. It is at the discretion of the editor which images appear.

All entrants will receive confirmation via email of a successful entry. The closing date for entries is February 28, 2012. Usual Echo terms and conditions apply.
