A Dorchester charity supporting older people has received a bumper donation.
Age UK Dorchester was awarded a grant of £5,000 from the Nationwide Foundation, which will be used to support the staffing of its welfare benefits coordinator, who runs a team of volunteers and benefits advisors offering home visits to people in rural West Dorset.
Age UK information and advice manager Peter Lindsley said: “We are very grateful to the Nationwide Foundation for this donation. It will enable us to continue to provide help with identifying entitlements, and in claiming benefits such as pension credit, attendance allowance and disability living allowance.” Lisa Suchet, the Nationwide Foundation’s chief executive said: “Every donation made by Nationwide Foundation aims to help people in need, with a focus on funding charities helping older people. “We are confident that our grant will make a significant impact to Age UK Dorchester.”
