TODAY marks the six-months-to-go countdown to the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
The Paralympic Sailing competition will be hosted at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy from Saturday, September 1 to Thursday, September 6.
A total of 80 disabled athletes from around the world will be competing in three medal events on the waters of Portland Harbour.
Portland sailors John Robertson, Hannah Stodel and Steve Thomas have been selected to represent Great Britain in the Sonar three-person keelboat, four-time World Champions Niki Birrell and Alex Rickham will be racing in the Skud-18 two-person keelboat.
The final slot for the single-handed 2.4mR boat is still up for grabs with Portland’s Megan Pascoe and Helena Lucas battling for selection.
