ON MARCH 28 I went down the local garage to get petrol for my car so I could go to work for the next three days.

When I got there I found that unleaded had increased by two pence a litre since the same afternoon.

It made me so mad I had to challenge one of the staff as to why.

He said it was the public’s fault for panicking and the government for incitement.

I wonder how many people knew how much extra we were paying for the fuel.

Next it will be the tanker drivers’ fault for suggesting a strike.

I would like to know who it is that decides to rip us off, knowing full well that we have to pay these prices or not go to work or do an important journey.
