Dorchester Town Council failed to consult the people of Dorchester about their approach to Christ-ianity. Coun Richard Biggs, seconded by Coun Molly Rennie, and their eight supporters, including the mayor-elect agent Coun Andy Canning, have broken centuries of tradition and left Dorchester the poorer. We seek transparency not spin.
It would be good to know the town council’s arrangements for public civic services ie: D Day, Armed Forces Day and Remembrance Service.
Does the mayor elect intend to substitute prayers with readings of his own choice?
Perhaps Coun Trevor Jones OBE (father of the council and elder statesman) should lay the wreath instead.
Coun Andy Canning, in the years you have been a councillor, how often have you attended the Remembrance Day Service with the town council and will you be wearing a red or white poppy?
John Antell, Former Mayor, Dorchester
