POLICE warn motorists not to leave valuables unattended after a handbag was stolen from a parked car.

Dorchester Inspector Les Fry issued the warning after Dorset Police received a report of the theft at a car park at Eggardon Hill.

He said: “At noon on Friday, April 27 a green Subaru Forester belonging to a woman from the Bridport area was left parked and unattended at Eggardon car park. The offender smashed a window and stole a bag from the back seat.

“Crime at beauty spots is a continuing problem, although numbers are low at the moment.”
