RESIDENTS, council members and staff turned out for the AGM of Magna Housing Association’s residents’ group Community Connections.

The group celebrated two years of successful partnership working at the event at Dorchester’s Corn Exchange.

Community Connections chairman Anthony Preece said: “We act as the ‘backroom gang’, always present and always working hard on behalf of all the Magna resident groups.

“We regularly provide input to the Association board and we have been at the heart of the recent consultation between residents and Magna for the change to charitable status, which involved knocking on the doors of over 1,200 Magna homes stretching from Bournemouth to Plymouth.”

The meeting also saw various community groups set up exhibition stands to show what they do, and there was a talk from Stuart Dawson from West Dorset District Council’s revenue and benefits advice service.

Residents interested in getting involved with the group and influencing the work of the association can contact resident involvement manager Marianne Fendle on 01305 216094.
