Who on earth is responsible for our lovely Weymouth Beach?
The beach looked a disgrace at the last bank holiday weekend – albeit after a storm – with the smell of seaweed all over the place. This attracts flies and seagulls and is very unpleasant.
May we suggest, from the comments we heard from visitors on the prom this weekend, that we cannot afford not to clean it.
The beach has always been Weymouth’s main asset.
As the eyes of the world will be on Weymouth this summer we hope that whoever is responsible for the upkeep of the beach does a great job, and not just for the Olympics, but also for the whole season.
Many people rely on a very short season for their livelihood and we want visitors to enjoy one of the best beaches in the country.
